Our commitment to the protection of Porquerolles Island

Les Bateliers de la Côte d’Azur joins the actors of the tourism of the Golden Islands for the safeguard of the island of Porquerolles, put in danger by the tourist overfrequentation of which it is victim. Our shipping company has just signed a charter with the other boaters serving the island to take part in the regulation of access to the territory. And this, within the framework of the new Public Service Delegation (DSP) limiting the number of daily visitors to 6,000, including 4,000 for the main carrier and 2,000 for private shipping companies from summer 2021.

Les Bateliers de la Côte d’Azur adheres to the measures taken by the DSP, in favor of a calmer, sustainable and more ecological tourism on the Var islands. This charter of the boatmen allows us to contribute, on our scale, to the preservation of this protected territory that are the island of Porquerolles and the National Park of Port-Cros. We are committed to restricting the number of passengers on our shuttles during the whole month of August, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, in order to keep the number of daily passengers to 2000. This is the period when the peak ridership is highest, making it more than necessary to reserve your shuttles.

It should be noted that the DSP also plans to limit the New Commercial Uses NUC (small boats serving the island) and the development of anchorage areas and light equipment on the island of Porquerolles to complete the regulatory measures initiated.
